Meet My World

Hi there! This is Candela Carballo. I studied Business Management at Universidad de Buenos Aires. I am an English Language trainee teacher at Universidad Tecnologica Nacional and I am currently attending my last year in this course of studies.
In the present, I am teaching CAE high school students at Colegio Nuevo de Las Lomas and I am also the Coordinator of studies at Instituto Buenos Aires, School of English.
As a trainee teacher, I must confess I have always struggled to introduce technology into my classroom without  badly suffering the consequences of my lack of tools knowledge.
I can't help but feel weak when I need to deliver a lesson and technology is to be involved. As opposed to many, I don't hate technology; I just wish I could understand it better and make the most of this contemporary art of making life simplier. I strongly believe that a 21st-century teacher must be equipped with technological tools if what we want is keep up with our up-to-date students.

At first, I got to believe that being a technological teacher entailed certain skills that I myself did not posses and finally got to the conclusion that I had to learn to teach without that. However, things have changed and today, I am confident that it can be quite plausible to learn something that, in the past, you were not good at. What is more, I would like to tell you that I haven´t YET ruled out the possibility of becoming a past master at this weakness in the future. :)

In order to attain the level of knowledge needed in this arena, I have enrolled on ICT at UTN, whose head teacher is Paula Ledesma, a Licenciada en Lengua Inglesa, specialized in Education Technology and in History (https://www.edmodo.com/profile/paulaledesma). This subject is one I have longed for because I consider it core in our teaching path.

The purpose of this website is to display and share the acquired tools with my classmates and tutors and also to create and shape a website that can be later of use for teaching purposes in my own lessons.

They will also work on the following grammar structures: expressing wishes (I wish I…./I would like to).  Setting of the project Age Group: 14-15 years old. Meisterlabs Tutorial

MEISTERLABS Mind mapping and similar brainstorming techniques facilitate creativity and the free flow of ideas. However, in contrast to regular paper mind maps, online mind mapping offers a range of additional possibilities for both students and teachers that make it one of the most practical applications that can be employed in a classroom. Online mind mapping is a means for teachers and students to work collaboratively and brainstorm together in real-time . The software basically offers a two-dimensional canvas which allows teachers and students to explore ideas, concepts and other types of information visually. Mind maps can easily be shared with individuals or whole groups of students, who can then contribute to them by adding their own ideas, images, links to external websites, files, notes or even tasks. Being web-based, online mind mapping software runs inside the web browser and requires neither installation nor updating. This is especially important because it frees ...
